Joel 190: Peter = Pebble = Catholicism? Pastor... How do you get from there into Calvinism?
We start with an article that is telling us that death is a disease and not a natural occurrence and the article is saying they can stop aging in dogs. We are officially in the days of Noah and the days of Lot. Many don’t know it (except for those who listen to this pastor) but extending lives indefinitely was one of the worst things of those two times that people were doing.
We also announce that a dear friend of ours, Mark Lindloff, has passed away in complications after heart surgery. He is a good friend of our pastor’s and to all of us here at Cliffside.
But now..., we’re going to find out just how this pastor is going to give an answer for Dime Box Dan, from Texas, and still stay on topic. Because his question is about the passage that some will say gives Peter the headship of the true church today, found in Matthew 16:18-20. So, instead of me telling you what our pastor says, I’m going to let you listen for yourselves. But it’s much like Calvinism and Arminianism... They don’t know... and they don’t care that they don’t know... because they want to stay simple and not go and find out the truth presented in Scripture. They don’t mind being wrong, and they like being wrong.
Our pastor does manage to interject the errors of Calvinism and Arminianism into the discussion of the little stone, Peter. We talk about free will and predestination. Without free will we have no existence. With predestination you have God as the author of hopelessness, fatalism and evil.
