Joel 171: Melchizedek IS JESUS CHRIST! Abram hears His voice and Knows Who said, Take Me!
The situation with the war over Ukraine is convincing our pastor that there’s nothing here that doesn’t convince him that Ezekiel 38 is not in the works. (A Triple negative. Yes!)
Pastor has the goal of binding Galatians 3 together with Genesis 15. The underlying power there is Belief. It’s the first mention of the word Believing in the Bible. This is consequential and extraordinary! This is the salvific process. In Genesis 15, for the first time in the Bible, Salvation is being dealt with. It results from Genesis 14... I know. Wow, right? Abram meets Melchizedek, the King of Jerusalem, Jehovah Jireh Shalom: God Provides Peace. So, Abram has already met Jesus Christ Himself. You’ll want to listen to the reasoning behind this, because a lot of people in academia don’t want to resolve this. This is Hebrews 7:1-6. You’ll learn some really cool things here to amaze and impress your friends with. Okay... probably not a great idea. You’ll learn that there’s always math, because the context of this passage adds up to an amazing description of Christ.
Genesis 15 begins with, After These Things. What are the These Things? And after these things Abram is in a vision. It’s not a dream. Abram was participating in something that is absolutely real. And pastor Chronister goes on to tell us what These Things are in Genesis 14. You’ve got the new king of Sodom who wants to trade riches for the people. This is God and Satan, and Abram gets to watch and even participate a little. So, when Abraham sees God in Genesis 18, do you think he’ll recognize His voice?
